11 month old just wants to nurse.

Can anyone relate? My sweet 11month old boy seems to be breast obssesed. For the last month or so he's been teething a lot., getting two top teeth and screams and cries in the high chair , eats a little cereal(because it has breast milk in it ) and then cries until I nurse him . He used to be a great eater and eats a large variety with no allergies .He doesn't take any other cup or bottle , I don't use formula or cow's and heard soy was not good for babies but I'm open to suggestions.
He uses Highlands teething tablets . He seems to be getting enough to eat . I just don't know why the weaning process has gone backwards . He sleeps in the bed at night and nurses to sleep , then wakes up to nurse a couple of times. I'm concerned that he's becoming too dependent on me. Need some help.Thanks.:)

Well,
I am a whole hearted attachment parenting type of person so I would say let him nurse. He is still so little and mommy is all they want, see and know at this age. Have you tried the Baby Safe feeder for him? It is a net that you can put frozen fruit, veggies, even ice to help with the pain of teething. It was the best gift I have ever recieved because it made my baby more comfortable. At this age tylenol, patients and teething tablets are the only saving grace..LOL :)
Hang in there!

Thanks Truestori,
I forgot I have baby safe feeder and you reminded me .Used it today and got some banana into him. Those things are pretty ingenious. Tomorrow we'll try some cooked carrot.Good idea!

Oh I have found my internet twin! LOL. I have a 11 mo also and he also is quite attached to the nursing. At times, I really think that he is just using that as his cover-up. He swats or pulls my hand away when I support my chest when I am nursing him. Also, his other hand will wiggle his way through under the bra covering the other chest and grab the tip of that as he is nursing the other??! His other favorite position is cupping the breast that he is nursing with both hands and just pats/strokes it very gently as he is nursing as if it is the most precious commodity on earth. When I try to pull his hand away he gets seriously annoyed and upset. ?? I don't think this is normal..but I don't know what to do b/c I also don't want to introduce any impact to his nursing..
I think he's is 25y old really inside and is secretly laughing at me that I am letting him manipulate me like this..

My son was like that. If it helps he is the sweetest kid now. Adventurous, self reliant and very compliant with teachers.

My son did the same thing! LOL It drove me crazy... Just know that it is totally normal! Have you seen the nursing beads? It is a necklace that you wear around your neck while nursing and the baby plays with that instead of the other nipple. I thought these were an awesome idea...

Thanks Everybody ! Battykatty you are too funny. My boy likes to cop a feel too and wearing a necklace does help, if I don't wear one he will grab my skin and sort of roll it between his fingers. He is also a very passionate kisser(an open mouth slimer) maybe because he has both venus and mars in scorpio ;)or from watching me and my husband. Anyway ,to give you all an update as soon as that tooth broke through he went back to being a hearty eater and now he eats three meals in the highchair and just nurses down for naps or at bedtime. Now for the next challenge.....thanks for all your input.
