UPDATE: DD and her preschool friends/situation

Moms View Message Board: Parenting Discussion: Archive July-December 2003: UPDATE: DD and her preschool friends/situation
By Mommyathome on Tuesday, October 21, 2003 - 03:18 pm:

My original post is down on the board a bit now. I think it was called "Issue w/DD and preschool" or something similar.

When I dropped Ashlyn off at preschool today I went up and talked to her teacher. I told her that a mom had confronted me about Ashlyn being mean to her DD. Said that Ashlyn wouldn't let "T" play etc.

Well, the teacher said that she hadn't noticed anything that she had been concerned about. She said that Ashlyn is a sweetheart (as is carpool girl) and that they seem to have a good little friendship going. She said she hasn't seen Ashlyn and carpool girl purposely excluding "T" at all.

The preschool room is fairly small, maybe 12x12 if that. And, there are only about 12 kids in the class. So, I'm pretty confident that the teacher would be right on top of it if there was a problem going on. It's not like the class is scattered all about with several different teachers and rooms. Everything that goes on is right under the teachers nose.

So, I'm thinking that "T" just isn't making the effort to play with Ashlyn and carpool girl. I've been slightly fuming about this for about a week now since "T"s mom confronted me. It just makes me mad when I think about it. "T"s mom is just trying to cause problems. If she breaks up the friendship between Ashlyn and carpool girl, I will be giving her a BIG piece of my mind. She needs to quit her childish games.

I'm glad I asked the teacher about this. Thanks for the suggestion.

Robin, unfortunately, this is probably NOT the last time you will encounter problems/parents like this. They're everywhere, believe me. I hope it doesn't cause problems between your DD and *carpool girl*, also. If I were you, I'd keep my eyes and ears finely tuned for anything else that may come from this. I'm glad you spoke with the teacher. Good luck.

Thanks Karen :)

"T"s mom hasn't called us yet for those playdates she talked about. Good think I have caller ID, it may come in handy LOL

Robin, glad you got to talk to the teacher about it. I think "T"'s mom just has a problem...lol
