I am just so excited!

We got to pick our school in our county. I was so happy I got the one I wanted the most. Then I found out I could request (without guarentee) a teacher. So I visited the school during regular hours last year and saw EACH teacher in progress of teaching. One teacher out of all of them really caught my eye. So I requested her.

So, since May of last year, I've been on pins and needles wondering if I made the right choices. I am 98% certain that I have :).

The school continues to impress me each time I visit them. I have read so many good things about the school, and have been hearing good things all summer.

Then today, I was so excited to see 4 of DD's camp counselors at her school (the Y before/after program). It really made things nice for DD to see some "teachers" that she already knew and associated with "fun!" They all came up and said hi. One asked who our teacher was, so I said the name. She let me know that she is "the best!" Then when we all got to meet the teacher in the classroom, I saw 3 school "offical type" people with their kid in her class. So I KNOW I got the best teacher when the adults that work at the school have her for their kids teacher.

I feel SO GOOD knowing that my choice of teacher was right on target. I am ready to do back flips if I could. I'm on cloud nine!

I took tons of pictures today since I know tomorrow will be too busy. The only picture I didn't get was of the teacher. She is really nice.

Our teacher, as well as the entire school, strongly encourages the parents to volunteer. Both my mom and myself are filling out the paperwork to volunteer. I can't wait to get started!

Today, really helped push me over the edge on what to do this year w/ my playgroup. My goodness, with all that is going on in K5 I won't have time to any extras outside my personal health and home. I really want to focus on MY family and home. I am so excited.

DD is feeling a bit better about too. She loved seeing her counselors at the school. And getting to color during orientation in the classroom was pretty fun too! The teacher made sure the kids knew to put their name on and give it to her.

Then before leaving she gave each child a goody bag. DD thought that was the best of course.

We'll see how it goes tomorrow when mom has to drop off and walk away. I can't wait to pick her up and hear about her day. Although I already what I will hear. "I don't know" It was like pulling teeth to get her to tell me anything about summer camp.

After orientation, Grandma, DD and myself all went to Applebees to celebrate! It was wonderful.

Tomorrow, we are going out for a 6AM breakfast before dropping her off to school (7:35a!). Not sure if I can convince daddy that 6am is a good time for breakfast. :) We'll see.

I'll be back tomorrow to post all about it. Should have some pictures to share then too.

YEAH! I'm so glad things are going well. I can relate to the happiness of getting the teacher you hoped for. Looking forward to seeing pics and hearing how A's first day went. My DD starts K August 27th, so we're still enjoying summer vacation. :)
