Chicken Pox vaccine and out break question....

Moms View Message Board: Parenting Discussion: Archive July-December 2003: Chicken Pox vaccine and out break question....
By Dana on Thursday, July 10, 2003 - 12:49 pm:

Well, I finally had to give DD her vaccine before starting school.

As mentioned as a side effect, DD did indeed show a small outbreak of pox. She had a few around her lips, a few on the opposite arm, one on her back and several near the injection site.

Her appt was on July 1. The outbreak started a few days after the shot. The pox seem to last about a day or so and then gone. But they keep popping up.

How long does this last? Just curious. What have your own experiences been if your child reacted to the shot?

TIA

Our doctor told us that they could show up over the next 2 1/2 weeks after the shot. We were lucky though and didn't have any show up.

I have no clue. My kids both got chicken pox about 10 years ago.
