Sunday is the first day of the week and the word origin is from the Old English Sunnandaeg which means "day of the sun". One common way to find weekly sales and promotions is to glean information from the Sunday paper. Sunday papers are generally heavy with inserts, sale papers and coupons. Most, but not all retailers begin a new sales week on Sunday and ending on Saturday. Holidays that are traditionally observed on Sunday: Mother's Day (second Sunday in May), Father's Day (third Sunday in June) and Easter Sunday (variable date).
