Dust if you Must!

Moms View Message Board: Short Stories, Poetry and Articles : Dust if you Must!

Trying to post this for Ginny......

Remember...a layer of dust protects the Wood beneath it.

1

Dusting

2 "A house becomes a home when you can write "I love you" on the furniture."

3 I can't tell you how many countless hours that I have spent CLEANING!

4 I used to spend at least 8 hours every weekend making sure things were just perfect -- "in case someone came over." Then I realized one day that no-one came over; they were all out living life and having fun!

Now, when people visit, I find no need to explain the "condition" of my home. They are more interested in hearing about the things I've been doing while I was away living life and having fun. If you haven't figured this out yet, please heed this advice.

Life is short. Enjoy it! Dust if you must, 5 but wouldn't it be better to
paint a picture or write a letter,

6 bake a cake or

7 plant a seed, ponder the difference between want and need?

Dust if you must, but there's not much time, with rivers to swim and mountains to climb, music to hear and books to read, friends to cherish and life to lead.

8 Dust if you must, but the world's out there 9 with the sun in your eyes, the wind in your hair, a flutter of snow, a shower of rain. This day will not come around again.

Dust if you must, but bear in mind, 10 old age will come and it's not kind. And when you go -- and go you must -- you, yourself will make more dust!

Share this with all the wonderful people in your life! I JUST DID.

It's not what you gather, but what you scatter that tells what kind of life you have lived.

OK, so I know this is not on the *proper* board, but as in most things of this nature that are posted here, I'll give everyone a chance to see it, and then I'll move it to it's proper place.

So I guess it's not bad of me to play outside with the girls during the day and clean at night when it's dark. LOL!!! I can't bring myself to stay indoors when it's sunny. The other day I dusted my ceiling fan and that seems to be one of the thigns I forget to clean, it was horrible.....how embarrassing.

Texas is dustier than any place I've lived, and my house is ALWAYS in need of dusting. Other than the floating dust, I've come to the point where I could really care less, it's a losing battle! Thanks for posting this!

Karen, thanks a lot. I really wanted to share this. (But, tonight I really do have to dust because I really can write my name on one piece of furniture.)

And I was just thinking I REALLY need to dust. Maybe I'll wait till another day.
