Acrylic nails: square or oval tips?

Just curious how many people here have acrylic nails and what is your preference on tips. Also, do you have them airbrushed, french manicure, or solid color? Any pictures to share? LOL!

No acrylic here...but I like having my nails painted in a french manicure. I keep mine short and oval because my grinder (stained glass) seems to catch them if I let them get too long.

I have had acrylic gel nails done, several times.. I prefer rounded and french.. To me, my opinion they look more natural rounded.. French makes then look like real nails and the don't need polished (hate to polish always chips).

I don't do acrylic nails, but I keep my own nails square and the once or twice I have done acrylic I went with square. Don't care for french manicure myself because I think it looks fake. Good luck!

Always round. They look more real that way. And if they are round I am less likely to hurt myself with the corners (if they were squared).

I always like squared/rounded - not really squared, but not totally rounded either.

I've done acrylics in the past, had French and American manicures as well as painted colors, and while I love having nice looking nails, I'll never go to the expense and upkeep of acrylics again.

Even with having my own private *kit* at the nail salon I used to go to, I've felt increasingly uncomfortable with the possibility of infections and bacteria and disease. It doesn't matter if you have a kit with your own files/buffers/wheels, etc., the brushes they use and the bottles/jars with the solutions to actually put the nails on are used on everyone.

Plus upkeep is expensive.

I'll just be happy with my stubby/nubby ugly natural nails. LOL

Mine are the "stubby/nubby ugly natural nails" right now, but I have had acrylic in the past. I prefer the squared off tip with the edges rounded and an American manicure. Colors just aren't *me* and the French tip is over the top. My nails are naturally pretty weak, but I have discovered that when I'm slapping sunscreen on kids left and right in the warmer months my nails are much stronger and healthier. Sunscreen must be good for nails! I've also started a new vitamin so that should help them. I'd love to have naturally beautiful nails. It's just hard with my job and hobbies. :) And I can't keep up with fake nails. Too much time and gets too expensive.
