In SE PA, it is ranging from $2.49 to $2.59. I just heard on KYW (all-news) that it is $3.00 to $3.06 in California. Just 17 days ago I paid $2.27.

Just last month I paid $2.04 now yesterday it was $2.47.

In Germany they pay almost $6 a gallon.

$2.69 at my usual station this morning. Funny, but it makes me glad I filled up at $2.59 last week. LOL!

An interesting web site:
GasBuddy.com

You heard right, Ginny. That's what we are up to here :(

By Ginny~moderator on Thursday, March 8, 2007 - 01:44 pm:

I heard $2.69 in South Philly this morning.

By Cocoabutter on Thursday, March 8, 2007 - 02:45 pm:

Went up to $2.59 here today, a 24 cent jump in some areas.

By Rayelle on Thursday, March 8, 2007 - 04:37 pm:

It's up here too, $2.58. Does anyone else have markets that let you get points for so much off gas? I finally get a free tank!

By Dawnk777 on Thursday, March 8, 2007 - 05:04 pm:

Most places $2.54. Saw it one place for $2.52.

Diesel 2.75, but one place has it for 2.69. (We have a diesel car.)

By Tarable on Thursday, March 8, 2007 - 06:11 pm:

It is quite a bit lower down here. 2.25 was the last i remember seeing a day or 2 ago. I hope it doesn't get that high down here.

Wisconsin has a lovely gas tax, which makes it higher than a lot of other places. I think that is how we pay for road projects, though. We don't have any toll roads.

By Cocoabutter on Thursday, March 8, 2007 - 11:48 pm:

There is talk of raising the gas tax in Michigan from 19 cents per gallon to 28 cents, and the diesel tax from 15 cents per gallon to 28. In addition, we pay a 6% sales tax on each gallon.

The Road Construction Lobby is pushing for this new tax, and the Governor will most likely approve it when the time comes. I don't think most people will mind the extra tax AS LONG AS it is stipulated that the tax can ONLY be used on road construction and improvements. The problem is that the state will find a way to shift the tax somewhere else.... :(

I paid $2.53 tonight, here in RI. Rayelle, we have a supermarket that has a gas station. For every $100.00 you spend on groceries, you get a coupon for 10 cents off per gallon. If you have a savings card from the supermarket, and you swipe it at the pump, you automatically get 5 cents off per gallon, then with the coupon, you get the other 10 cents off per gallon as a cash refund.

It costs me $70.00 per week to drive Shawn to college three days per week, take the kids back and forth to work, and go to work myself. And I don't drive an SUV. I have a 2002 Ford Taurus. My SIL has a brand new Ford Expedition! However, he only drives eight miles to work.

Supposedly, the reason that I heard for the price increase is that the refineries are changing over equipment to get ready for the summer driving season. There's always a "reason" to gouge us.

I wish so badly that we had alternative fuel. Everytime I gas up, I feel like I am putting money into the enemy's pocket, and putting our troops in harm's way.
