So, have we mowed our lawn for the last time?

We did some of it yesterday and finished today! Last year, we needed to do it one more time, and just ran out of time! I hope this is it! I hate leaving it long, over the winter. Lawns around here, were looking pretty pathetic, after the long dry summer, but we have had a pretty wet fall, and they all greened up nicely and started growing again! I don't really want to mow, anymore.

LOL...in houston for the winter you only have to mow about every two weeks. During april, may and june we get to mow twice a week!

We have not mowed for a few weeks now. We didn't have to mow our backyard at all this summer....because we just planted it in early fall! It's sort of growing in, but it's kind of splotchy in areas.

Yesterday we raked at our house then went to my mom's and help her rake and get it all by the curb for the leaves collector thing to come by and suck it up. She's got woods behind her house and I swear that every one of the leaves from those trees landed in her yard! The leaf pile was HUGE!

We get inundated with maple leaves! We don't own any maple trees! There are many old maple trees all round my house! One windy days, we get hit!

Oh, I wish we had leaf collection in our town... most people still burn. I like a LITTLE leaf smoke for ambiance, but yesterday the entire town was enveloped in a thick haze of smoke, and it comes into the house, gets everywhere, and causes me headaches and burning eyes! The town figures it's just too expensive to have someone come. We could hire a guy from another town to come and just do ours, but dh usually puts them in the pickup and hauls them out to the farm. I also "mow my leaves" until they get too thick... yay mulch! :)

We have to mow twice a week in the summer. I think we will have one more mow though Dawn...other than just mulching leaves. I thought we might have had our last one, but the back yard could possible use one more mow, so we'll see! We have to get everything stored for the winter this weekend, deal with leaves (oh my), and tidy up a bit. It will be a long Saturday!

I think we did our last mow about 2 weeks ago. That's when all the outside water was shut off. So, since we aren't watering, it's not green. It's been fairly wet this fall, but not enough to keep the grass growing. Happily putting away all the yard tools for the winter :)

the lawn service just left ... 80 dollars a month weather they mow it once or four times a month. rolls eyes. this is year round. its a trade off for the snow and ice tho . we dont have shovel the snow and worry about driving on ice. or high heating bills ...lol we have 700 hundred dollar air conditioning bills ..but love my green grass just hate yard work lmao
