Sarah's plane just landed

Moms View Message Board: General Discussion: Archive October 2006: Sarah's plane just landed

She went to Minneapolis, for the weekend, with her Girl Scout troop. It was a long weekend, and they all wanted to go shopping at the Mall of America, for their big trip. They did lots of fundraising and ended up with enough money to fly there and back, have 3 nights of hotel room, and still have $210 to spend!

(Brat fries, bake sales, helping with summer picnics and one night at a local racetrack, along with selling cookies!)

I finally found a flight-tracker, that would let Emily and me, watch the plane fly home! I only got to watch it fly from Madison to Milwaukee, becuase I was playing a game, and didn't realize it had taken off. It's only about an hour, to fly from MPLS to Milwaukee. It's freaky how fast her plane went from Madison to Milwaukee. It's about an 1-1/2 hour drive.

I can't wait to hear about her trip, and I can't wait to see what she all bought.

Wow! That is some good fund raising! My in laws went to the Mall of America. Said it was really neat. You'll have to tell us what she bought!

I would be a nervous wreck if one of my kids was flying, lol.

That fundraising was a lot of company picnics, in the hot sun! The Kohler Company (toilets, sinks, bathtubs) is so big, that their picnic lasts for a few days, and people have to come on certain days. LOL! I drove by it once, and there were so many cars!

Actually, the internet helped, since I could check to see when her plane landed in MPLS, and I could keep track of it, on the way home. I didn't look for tracking sites, soon enough to track her flight, there. By the time I checked, she was there already. This was her first plane trip. My first one was with Girl Scouts, too, when I was 15. I got to go to Mexico.
