My neighbor started a war!!

Moms View Message Board: General Discussion: Archive October 2006: My neighbor started a war!!
By Tonya on Thursday, October 5, 2006 - 10:13 am:

And I am going to win this war!!! In brief Rich and the old man do not get along they haven't since we bought this house. We have a fire pit the man hates the smell of burning wood so he calls the fire department on us all of the time but we burn legal so we just get warnings to keep it under control. Plus we have parties sometimes and play music (under control) outside he hates it. The guy is just a jerk.

We have a motorhome sitting next to our house that we are putting in storage the end of the month. Well our city law is that all rec. vehicles have to be behind the house. We do not have enough room behind so it is next to it. The only way you can see it is if you drive by our house it does not stick out or nothing.

We he called and complaint to the city again so we got a write up and warning to remove in 10 days or be fined. I called the city told him it was going ot storage on the 22nd could he extend my 10 days out. He said sure. Then the city guy went on to tell me normally he would not write someone up for this even with the current law because he sees nothing wrong with how we have out motorhome parked but because someone turned in a complaint he had to follow procedure. I said well I don't know anyone in our neighborhood except for the neighbor so he had to do it. All the city guy said was I will not deny anything but I cannot give out specific names. So that tells me he did it.

I was trying to be nice to this guy he is the one I complained to you about a few weeks back about the mice issue. Well he hit my boiling point and while on the phone I put in a complaint and even gave the city official permission to go in my back yard to see his nasty yard.

I was trying to be nice to this guy but he is now messing with the wrong person.

Does the fire department fine him for filing false complaints? It cost money to send fire crews out everytime, in fact it costs a lot of money and it could be time taken away from a real emergency.

No they do not. Because the city has laws on open burning they have to check and make sure we have it at the level it is allowed and that it is contained. And 95% of the times he calls it is Anon. But agian we have 2 neighbors behind us who have fire pits and no one on the other side of us empty house. So he is the only 1 who can even see our fire to complain. 1 time our fire was bigger than it was suppose to be because we were burning leaves. Some o fthe ashes got on his rusted piece of crap car he came over bit@@ing we offered to take it and wash it and we apoligized he told us to F off and 30 minutes later the fire Dept showed up. Told us to just be careful.

This is why we want to move so bad. Only 18 months to go and we are going to be out of here.

Hey Tonya, there is a nice big old house on a double lot with a HUGE fire ring right behind us that is in foreclosure that I am betting will be going cheap. I wouldn't mind you as neighbors as long as you don't call the cops on our bon-fires or our pool or our four-wheeler or anything else. I don't even know what laws Brownstown has in effect we kind of do what we want and have only had the cops called once when my son was riding his 4wheeler on the road evidently too early on a Sunday. I don't understand why people have to be so crochity (sp).

When we move in 18 months we are going to Carleton. I want out of Wayne County totally. taxes are cheaper in Monroe and the schools are smaller student to teacher. Plus we want at least 1 acre preferably 2.

And yes crochity neighbors are the pitts. Mine is a total jacka@@.

And we would never call the cops your 4-wheelers and our go-karts would get along well.

Carleton, cool. My home town. Go Jets!!!! What area are you looking at or do you already have the land? I wish we could have moved there but working in Southfield I had to cut off some distance. I hear you on the smaller schools, my boys actually are school of choice in the Huron district which is half the size as Woodhaven/Brownstown and just as close to the house. We live in a wierd area where our address and phone are Flat Rock but the schools are W/B.

By Tonya on Thursday, October 5, 2006 - 11:23 am:

Not sure yet. When the time comes to start looking we are going to look for something that is already built with the things we want if we cannot find that then we are going to get a manufatured home and put it on land outselves.

When we move this time this is it. We want 4 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a basement, large kitchen (with dishwasher)/dining room. Fireplace and a large familyroom. Plus room outside for a pole barn and I really want an attached garage to park in.

We are not going to settle this time. Plus we want to stay close to 275 so we are both close to work. So once we are in Monroe County anywhere off of 275 is fine with me as long as it meets our needs.
