Moms View Message Board: General Discussion: Archive September 2006: Need music suggestions please
By Pamt on Sunday, September 3, 2006 - 10:41 pm:

We are having a surprise birthday party for my mom's 60th next weekend. DH is making a video with pics from infancy to present and we need some background music. We had a similar party/video for my dad's 60th 2 years ago and we used "What a Beautiful World," "I Hope You Dance," and maybe some James Taylor song in his. I already know I want to use "Sunrise, Sunset" in my mom's, but need more ideas. Any suggestions for songs about being a mom, stages of life, living life to the fullest, etc, that might be appropriate?

I Am Your Child by Barry Manilow.

Wind Beneath My Wings by Bette Midler.

You Raise Me Up by...um... whomever....it's the song I thought was originally a Christian song, but while it's used that way, it was not that originally.

Josh Groban sings "You Lift Me Up". I have that CD. I love it.

"The Dance" by Garth Brooks.

"In My Daughter's Eyes" by Martina McBride

"A Song for Mama" by Boyz to Men

"You and Me Against the World" by Helen Reddy

"Rockin' Chairs" by Dolly Parton and Ricky Van Shelton (?)

Or Thank Heaven for Little Girls, or Turn Around for the childhood pictures.
