I realized this morning that my kids summer break is almost half over! I'm only going to have one child tomorrow and Friday (the other two are going on an extended weekend) so I'm looking for fun, cheap things I can do with a 12yo, 10yo and a 23mo. I thought about the zoo, but it'd cost $24 just to get in and my boys aren't really excited about that anymore anyway. The library district does have a couple events planned for tomorrow and Friday that are free (birds of prey and reptiles). They aren't at our local branch, but are within driving distance (a little longer of a drive--about 40 minutes). Dh suggested taking the kids to the pool, but I won't be able to get in since Aunt Flo is visiting (ugh). The kids actually go to the pool by themselves now anyway. What's out there that's not going to break the bank? Any suggestions?

How about a picnic at the park.The kids could help pack the lunch.We usually bring gloves/balls, and a kite if the wind cooperates.Whatever you choose to do,HAVE FUN!!!
