Photobucket is a photo hosting site, like Flickr. I use it to host pictures for my blog, because it produces the HTML code automatically. Because it is a free site and doesn't have limits to uploading (Flickr's free accounts have a monthly upload limit, I use them as well, but not for blog/clipart pics), anyone can sign up and host whatever pictures they want, which may be why you are finding unsavory pics. A lot of people use it to host their my*space backgrounds, and clipart.

I don't know what you saw, but if you go to photobucket.com, you can sign up for free picture hosting...it's what I used for my vacation pics I shared here. I used to use another site, but it went out of business.

It's a photo hosting website. You take pictures and load them onto your computer. Then you can upload them to the website for storage and for sharing (you can also do this for gifs that you have on your computer.) Now, on momsview, you can upload a picture directly to a post, so that it is saved on momsview's server as a picture. But some websites don't allow for uploading directly to the webpage, so you have to provide a link to the photo hosting website that contains the picture, which is automatically given to you by the photohosting website.

You can sort the pictures into different albums, so let's say you took pictures of your vacation to Tahiti, and you took pics of your dd's b-day party. You can put each set of pics into its own group, or album, and then if you want someone to see the pics of the party, you give them the link to that specific album of pics.

I have a website, and I could host message-board pics, there, but everytime the message board would load the pic, it's using my website's bandwith, so I have a photobucket account to store the pictures, so I can post them somewhere and not affect my website space or bandwidth.

Here's my photo album. It's a rather random assortment of pictures of the dog, avatars for other message boards, some smileys and emoticons and other stuff.

I'm sure you can find nasty pictures if you go looking for them. There aren't any on my site, or my daughter's site.
