Not a dumb question! Yes, that's right. It takes it our of your checking acct., but also needs a credit card as a back up source of payment (which should already be in there when you/he signed up for the account). Hope that helps!

Yeah, ours is linked to a savings account and it just takes money from the savings account.

Mine is linked to a checking account and it debits or credits directly.
