I'm waiting for a heating company to come and hook up a gas line for my barbecue.I was told anywhere between 9 and 5.Don't you think these guys can give a better estimate with a time slot?

Nope. And it drives me nuts. And, with my luck, odds are it would be right at, or after 5 when they showed up. LOL

Wow! Our local appliance store is really good at narrowing down the time, to at least a few hours, not all day! sheesh! I would hate that, because you are stuck home!

Honestly, unless it is the only shop in town, if it were me I'd say, no thanks, I'll find someone else who thinks my time is important too.

I recently had to have a repair to my washer, and when I called on Friday they said (a) they could come out Tuesday, when my son was home, and (b) they would either be there by 10 or call me to let me know they'd be late, because he had to catch a plane around 2:00 p.m. They were, in fact, there at 9:30 (and out by 10:00). Which is why I will keep dealing with them. My plumber (who also does my circulating hot-water heating system and installed my gas furnace and gas lines) also gives me a 2 hour time frame and calls me if they are running more than a half hour late.

Well today is a new day and I'm waiting for another company to come.They said they'd be here around 10am.

On Friday afternoon when I was waiting for these guys to come, my brother called.I told him I was getting the BBQ hooked up.I told him that they were going to tap into the fireplace gas line.He said "BIG MISTAKE" that I wouldn't be able to BBQ and use the fireplace at the same time,in the witer.Well,I called the company around 2pm and asked if that was true.They said they didn't realize that I would be doing both at the same time.I was not impressed that they wouldn't even have mentioned it to me.Isn't that why they get paid the big bucks? Needless to say I cancelled and called someone else who is putting in a whole new line for the same price.

Karen if I hadn't called it would have been around 5pm-usually my luck LOL

Ginny you're right I should have stuck with someone a little more considerate.This new Co. gave me a nice timeframe

I only went with the 1st Co. because they've been in business since 1974 and no problems with the BBB.Well lets hope I can BBQ tonite.
