Dh just came in to see me at work and asked, "Is the money we put down for South Carolina refundable?"
This has been a nightmare of a planting season for our area! Cold and wet...just when it warms up and the fields get maybe just dry enough, it rains in torrents and that's that. We have exactly 7 days left before we leave. Dh told me he needs a minimum of 3 days to plant. Figure in time for the field to dry from YESTERDAY'S rain, and we are looking at maybe squeaking in, if it stays dry for an entire week (which it won't). The only thing that will save this vacation is if it stays wet and cool for another week. Then, dh just won't be able to plant. But if it gets nice next week, he's going to want to stay here and get it all done...
There is no way I can tell the girls about this. It's all they've been talking about! I could go alone, but...
I know there are worse problems out there than my petty little vacation plans, but it'll be a huge disappointment, that's for sure!

We have had a lot of rain. I guess you think it was better then last year. But I guess either way is not good. I hope you get to go!

I hope everything works our for you, Janet. We had to cancel our vacation a few years ago and it was soooo disappointing.

Aren't you in Illinois? I am up by Chicago, and we have had so much rain the last few weeks. I think almost daily. I saw this morning, that it is suppose to finally dry out here for several days. No rain is forcasted until the middle of next week. What does it say about your area?

Bummer!!! I would think about making it a *girls* trip myself!! lol But I am very independent when it comes to travel. ;) I am the one that took my 3 kids snow skiing alone. lol Back when Blake was almost 3yo. We had a BLAST!!!

Well, I could do it...I usually go with just the girls when I go visit my parents (a 600-mile trip), and oldest dd is driving now, so that would help. But I'm very nervous when I'm going somewhere that I don't know, and will be driving in cities that are unfamiliar. If I were alone, I might do it, but I get more uncomfortable when I'm responsible for two other humans, ya know? I don't know...maybe I could...
