New car!!!

Moms View Message Board: General Discussion: Archive May 2006: New car!!!

Sort of new...

It's a '98 Hyundai Elantra wagon with 98,000 kms (60,000 miles??) on it. 8 years old but we're used to buying beaters with only a year or two of life left in them. This is such a treat!

We kept ignoring the hyundai listings when checking used cars until we saw the ad for this one. A little research and we found out that Hyundai is not what it once was and beats out most of the other cars (including VW and Toyota) that we were looking at in terms of reliability. Absolutly no recalls for our model year!

No needed repairs, no rust, no oil leaks or little dents and it was just under $5000 so no huge loan.

I'm just so happy. What a neat feeling to have a vehicle where all the body panels are the same colour! :)

Congratulations!

We've had our VW Passat TDI for 1-1/2 years and haven't had any problems yet. On Gary's message board, some of them have driven their VWs for 200,000 miles or so.

We love our diesel, since it gets 42 miles to the gallon!

Enjoy your new ride! I have a feeling my boys will end up with a used Toyota Corrola or a Hyundai type car when they start driving in a couple of yrs. :) Reliable and economical on gas and insurance. ;)
