This really annoys me

Moms View Message Board: General Discussion: Archive April 2006: This really annoys me
By Cocoabutter on Tuesday, April 11, 2006 - 04:56 pm:

When I put waffles in the toaster, I put them in for 2 cycles so that they are crispy on the outside. But then when I get the syrup on them, they turn into mush. The syrup completely soaks through them making them even difficult to get on my fork.

I am debating whether it is the quality of the waffles or the quality of the syrup. I haven't really been into eating waffles much lately, so I have been buying the cheap waffles and syrup at Aldi, a discount grocery store. But yesterday I had waffles for the first time in a long time, and I about gagged. I don't know why no one in my family complained about this before.

What do you think?

I am with Colette. We only make homemade. They do not take much time and taste so much better. I make a lot on Sunday and the kids reheats them during the week.

Homemade waffles don't really take that long! They sound good to me!

Eggo waffles--I also put them thru 2 cycles but I turn around for the 2nd cycle so each side is exposed to a different heating element. Then Mrs. Butterworth's Lite syrup.
