Dear Feona - Have you been clinically diagnosed with Depression? 1st of all - visit your Dr. & see what they suggest. 2nd - analyze what you think it is that is getting you down & come up with some solutions to help alleviate the sadness. 3rd - you could get together with some friends & talk it over. That always helps - to get things off your chest. I have a close friend who recently beat cancer & his take on this is that you really need to be careful because if you go to see a Dr. they are always quick to dispense drugs & thats not the real cure.

It may require some tough life changes - but its worth it in the end for you to be happy & healthy.

You don't "get over" depression. That's not how it works.

Mommy3 is right. You have to actually get clinically diagnosed. There are several criterion for depression and you have to meet a certain number of them. Yes, drs. may be quick to dispense medication, however, you have the right to ask for other options.

Actually I am starting to get better. I am forcing myself to do more and more every day and it is working. It is not seeming like work now or overwhelming.

I actually went for a walk on the boardwalk and enjoyed it. The cloud is lifting! I always just my emotions on whether I am taking 3 or more walks a week. If I am taking three or more walks a week them my spirits are looking up.

I thought I fell in the deepest rabbit hole imaginable and just wanted to sleep the day away. It was only for two weeks though. I have never felt so bad before.

I am on lexapro and it is making me very sleepy though.

Hmmmm - sounds like you need more physical activity Feona - and you recognize that too. Walks = better outlook. So keep up the walks as much as you can. If the lexapro is making yuo tired - talk to the Doc & see if you can switch it up or add something to it.

It doesnt happen overnight - but then again - we dont get depressed overnight either. Im ewith ya honey & your in my thoughts & prayers.

Hang in there. Tough times dont last but tough people do & I know you personally - you ARE tough!! ;)

They can give me some ritalin to wake me up!

Ahhh!!! Slipped again and slept all morning. It felt so good but it is so bad. Luck hubby is here to back me up.

I have a plan to get out this week and and take the kids out and have some fun which we have not had in two week.

If you set some DATES with friends or play dates for the kids - then you are committed to go & that will give you that boost. I find thats helpful when I start acting like a hermit again! LOL
