So bizarre. These were icons when I was growing up.

It is sad. The news of Farrah Faucet's death wasn't as out of left field because of her battle with cancer. I really thought she'd get better.

When I saw the headlines for Michael Jackson I though it was a joke. That was out of left field! The radio station I listen to, in Spanish, has been playing little snippets of his music. When it is said that he broke down music barriers, it's so true. I was a little girl in a small farming community in the middle of nowhere and even we heard of him and thought his music was great!

Shocking news in terms of Michael Jackson.

I was watching an interview just this week with Ryan O'Neill saying that Farrah had finally agreed to marry him and as soon as she was well enough to say "I do" they were going to get married. How sad.

When I was young I thought that people like Farrah Faucet and Michael Jackson must have charmed lifes. But it so isn't so.

Thanks for mentioning Michael Jackson. I grew up with his music also but it actually became a bond between me and one of my older children. One of our most distinctive joint memories was a Michael Jackson concert we attended in Madison Square Garden on September 10, 2001. The final song, lit only by candlelight was dedicated to world peace. Less than 10 hours later the planes hit the twin towers. My son and I still remember Michael and the night before.

What a powerful memory.

Farrah Fawcett.
