Swine flu and kids

Moms View Message Board: General Discussion: Swine flu and kids

My friend in NYC just got notice that her alma mater is closed because of 7 swine flu cases. Needless to say I took notice. The best site I saw for info was the Center for Disease Control (CDC):

http://www.cdc.gov/swineflu/key_facts.htm

Anyone else see anything helpful.

Yahoo News had some Q/A on the topic. I believe I got an email from WebMD as well. Those are two places where you can look. I'll see if I can do the links, but I have trouble with that.

ok, tried finding the yahoo page with the information and could not.

WebMD has quite a bit of information but I was hesitant in posting the link due to some of the other topics that show up on the page.

VERY concerning ..... we're in FL, where people from ABSOLUTELY everywhere come .... and unfortunately I'm not sure the mainstream media will be completely forthcoming with us. I don't want to panic ... but I also want to know if this is in my state. My children don't drink/eat after other people, but if it's here, then we can just hang out at home for awhile, ya know ?
I realize we cannot live afraid to leave our own front door, but there might well be times in the near future that leaving it would be more risky than necessary, ya know ? Just my own two cents here!

I am kind of frightened myself. Especially with the kids...
