What did they roll the nuts in chicken before they sent them out.

Yuck...

It is amazing the foods that carry these illnesses that you never thought of in combination. We recently had a news report on cows and rabies. Last night they also reported on somenella and sprouts that are out under 5 or 6 different brand names nationwide.

In the past couple of years we've had food issues with salad, spinach, peanut butter, hamburger - and those are the ones that actually penetrated my world.

Amazing how important monitoring our food really is. In the same breath as the cow story, the news reported they were reducing the number of state meat inspectors by 80% due to budget cuts. We're either committed to safe food or we're not. Definitely smacks of the pennywise pound foolish dilemna.

It does seem important to let our political reps know that as moms we really do care about the safety of our families food and waiting like they did with some of the meat scandals until young children or the elderly die is not an option.
