I am going off coffee again.

Unfortunately I don't think the coffee is doing anything for me at all anymore except making me more exhausted. I have alot of tasty tea so I won't go into caffeine withdrawal.

So I should feel pretty good. Last time I think I stopped for 3-4 weeks and I really felt better.

Boy are you strong. LOL The thought of it makes me jittery! I LOVE my coffee!!

Hi Feona,
That first couple of days is the hardest. Do you like flavored coffees. Green Mountain and Dunkin Doughnuts have grat flavored decaf coffees. The longest I ever went was 7 years.

I think I was off it for a month last time. The first week is the hardest though I am drinking caffinated tea. I think I read that tea is like 1/2 the caffine as coffee. So I am planning of drinking all the decaf tea I want and two cups of regular tea if I want it.

My sinuses feel much better today. (day 2) My jaw feel fabulous. I don't need any stress like coffee does do to your nerves.

Who need anti anxiety medicine? Just stop drinking coffee!

I think I am still recovering from that walking pnemonia. I am like dizzy. The doctor said I was fine but this has happened to me before so think it will pass.

I like the tea. It is easy to make. I put rice milk and it doesn't bind with the tea so you can put the rice milk in right away after putting in the tea bag.

I will see how long I can keep it up. Easy to do if you are motivated by nerves or pain.

The say if you have sinus problems or tmj that elimating coffee will help. Actually they said caffeine, but what I am doing is good enough.

Why did I start this? Oh I remember my sinuses was acting up. Motivation.

I am incredibly impressed with your will-power!

Right now I am drinking decaf tea, but I prefer regular tea (just so hard to get decaf to taste strong enough !) I use Carnation French Vanilla Creamer in it and it just tastes so "special", I love it. My problem is the sugar (I have too muchof it apparently) I start to get a headache (which can last and last !) if I have too much. I have noticed that if I use honey instead of sugar the headaches are much less frequent.

Keep up the good work, I'm sure your body will thank you !!!

I just came across three different articles in my health wanderings about the benefits of tea for women especially green tea.I know there are different flavored green teas and hot and cold maybe you can work it in.

You're inspiring me.

Well that was the end of that. I was extremely tired today even after drinking a cup of regular tea and I surcommed to the coffee after sleeping most of the day away. I really don't know how people function without a cup of coffee.

Green tea is great for sinus problems and TMJ too. I love green tea. They even make chai green tea. Which is almost as tasty as regular chai tea.

You would think drinking two cups of tea would equal the get up and go of 1 cup of coffee since the caffeine math seems to suggest that it would be equal but somehow it is not the same.

Feona, wean down your caffiene and don't go cold turkey. Mix your cofffe with 3/4 real coffee and 1/4 decaf, do that for a week, then go half and half, then go to a 1/4. Caffiene is a powerful stimulant, if you want off you have to dose down.

I am not a coffee drink, can't stand the stuff!

that caffeine math doesn't make ANY sense to me ... I, personally, think there's more to coffee than they're telling us ....

I LOVE the smell of coffee
I LOVE the taste of coffee (well with a lot of sugar and cream/milk in it)
It makes me so sick though .... so I rarely drink it, although I am a prime candidate for coffee, not a morning person, need help staying awake at times (four kids, who doesn't ?) etc ... every once in awhile I 'try' it again, I have to REALLY need the extra boost (being off track with my Monday morning reports to the office or something) to drink it. I get the boost, but then my stomach lets me know how much it doesn't appreciate this.

That caffeine math as you put it would say that a double cup of tea (two tea bags, very strong but with enough sugar tastes ok) would give about the same boost, it doesn't, not nearly !

So, I give up ....
Coffee makes me sick, sugar gives me a headache (using honey instead helps cut down on those !) but boy how I love my Lipton !!!!!

Well I really did decrease my coffee consumption about a year ago. I now only drink one cup of coffee in the morning. I used to drink two or three. I stopped my afternoon cup of coffee, but I do drink diet coke in the afternoon or tea.

Well I really have to be motivated to try that again and I am so not motivated. I guess I am feeling better.

I don't think there is anything wrong with drinking coffee but the fact that I sleep for millions of hours when I stop is werid. I so looked forward to drinking my coffee this morning.
