Paint program crashed

Moms View Message Board: General Discussion: Paint program crashed
By Luvn29 on Tuesday, December 23, 2008 - 07:14 pm:

Our paint program on the computer crashed this evening. My son loves to play on it. Is there anywhere I can download this again? Or something similar?

What's the name of the program?

Or are you talking about
the program that comes with Windows?

By Luvn29 on Wednesday, December 24, 2008 - 08:33 am:

yes, that's the one. Just the simple accessories paint.

Is it crashing everytime you try to start it?

If so I would suspect that something newly installed on the computer is causing the problem.

If so, you may want to try a system restore to a point before the other program was installed.
Programs->Accesories->System Tools->System Restore

Do you have other programs crashing in addition to Paint or have you noticed slowdowns or wierd behavior?

I'd check the following:
(1)Make sure your antivirus is running and then do a rescan of your whole system.

(2)Scan your Hard Drive for bad areas using

(3)My Computer -> Right Click on C -> Properties ->
Tools Tab -> In the "Error checking" section "Check Now" ->Select both check marks and then Start
Tell it to schedule the Disk test and then restart your computer.

(4)Check for Spyware using a free tool like Spybot.

Good Luck!

We had installed a game on the computer recently. I restored to the point right before that and it worked! Thanks so much! My son is so happy! And that makes me happy!

Merry Christmas!
