Where to find?

Moms View Message Board: General Discussion: Where to find?

Where do I find doll accessories for an 18 inch doll?
My dd is getting a new American Girl doll for Christmas, and she really wants to get a bed for the doll. The one at AG is so expensive. I've heard people say that they just buy clothes and accessories for 18 inch dolls at the store. I just need to find out what store that is. I've checked Wal-Mart and K-Mart so far and they have nothing. Does anyone know of any others I should check?
We are finishing up shopping this weekend, and will be going into the city to do so. So, I will have access to most all of the big stores.
Thanks.

I used to shop the clearance section on the American Girl doll site. I also visited craft shows and shops throughout the year. Also, abc distributing usually carries some through the year. http://www.abcdistributing.com/home/catalog/cat_item_pg3.asp?G=573&P=127&Rec=1&Ntt=doll+clothes&N=35&Nao=0&R=444168-9DOF---2

Also, check ebay. Tons of clothes out there.

We bought most of our furniture at Wal-mart and Target.

I did get DD a really neat bunk bed for her dolls from JCPenney one year. It also had a matching double stroller.

Amazon has some neat ones. Here's one:

Target has them and if you have an AC Moore near you they have them as well.

Thanks! I'll put Target on our list for Saturday. We did check Toys R Us on our last shopping trip and didn't find anything there. I guess it could depend on when we are shopping too. The last time we were there was the day after black Friday and a lot of things were wiped out.

The amazon link is perfect. That is basically exactly what I'm looking for.

Thanks everyone!

Is it shaped like a normal doll, or a tall Barbie? I bought cheap baby clothes for my girls' dolls, which was always cheaper than doll clothes.

Michaels has clothes

this is the link for Target.

http://www.target.com/Generation-Toy-Toys/b/ref=sc_pgc_r_10_0_1041576_2/185-6179157-6742916?ie=UTF8&node=1197908

Michael's sells the same line that AC Moore does and they are very nice.

Madison is getting an Itty Bitty Twins set from AG, they are smaller than the 18" dolls, but I'll have to keep the tip in mind about baby clothes. I think newborn sizes will fit the IB Twins... thanks Marcia!

By Breann on Thursday, December 11, 2008 - 04:27 pm:

We've tried regular baby clothes on her other one, and they don't fit right. She is a tall/skinny type doll.

I never thought of Michaels. I will have to check there.

Thanks for the Target link Colette! Going to check that out now.
