Period question maybe tmi

Moms View Message Board: General Discussion: Archive September 2008: Period question maybe tmi

I have been on the pill for year and I haven't missed a one. I start my period usually on a wednesday, maybe thursday. I know the days more so than the dates because of it being the pill. So this time I started On sat and it was very very light. It stopped by sunday night. I've also had some minor hot flashes, cramping and diarrhea. Do you think this could be related? Would you call the doctor?

I guess my question is, what are you worried about? For me unless it happened more than once, I wouldn't worry. Our hormones change as we age and the pills are constant, but they add to what is in our body. So I would assume a little change on occasion is not unheard of.

Hot flashes can be hormonal. Cramping...well you are on your period. Diarrhea is my first sign of starting, seems my daughters too. So none of those symptoms would alarm me.

However, you obviously sound concerned about something. The only thing I can think is, are you worried about being pg? If so I am going to say the chances are very slim, but a pg test would detect that. It is a different horomone it detects, so 10 bucks might put your mind at ease. Typically if you dont' miss pills, if you haven't been on antibiotics, pills work well. They aren't fool proof though.

The last time I was screwed up I had cysts but I bled more not less. It seems I'm starting up again- ugh. I hope it's just nothing and not cysts but I've never had an off cycle and it not been pg or cysts.

you tend to bleed less when you are on the pill and if you are on it for a while, you might not bleed at all.
