They left Monday night .It was SO hard !! DH and I just stood in our driveway, holding each other and cried ! It was even worse when we walked back into the house. The kids stayed with us almost the whole time this past month, because we took care of them while she worked ( 3rd shift), so it felt like they were still there , somewhere in the house.My precious 6ft tall, almost 300 lb. DH sat down in the living room, holding an article of clothing of one of the kids, and cried so hard his body shook !!We were so involved with them ( school, ball games, cheerleading practice, Grandparents Day,etc)that this has changed our whole life.I realize that life goes on...children move on...but for right now, life is really sad !!

I'm so sorry, I know how you feel, although my dgk's don't live around here they have stayed with me for visits and it is heart wrenching, when they leave. We went to visit them in New Orleans recently and when we left to go home I was inconsolable for four hours of the drive. I am very sensitive so I know how you and your dh feel, I feel your pain. Ya'll, thanks so much for your hugs and concern It has been one week tonight.And ,what a week !! The tears have slowed down a lot, but the "whole" seems to be getting bigger. DH cleaned out my car today and found several pieces of their clothes.7 yr old Mason's ball cap was in it. DH walked in to the house, holding it like it was a piece of gold! I cried ! I just yesterday let myself put the toys that Hannah (5) played in the bath tub with, back into the toy room.Life is so different now.
