okay so we bit the bullet today! I am still kind of stunned that we did. We got a 2008 honda odyssey with a dvd player. It is very nice. There are a lot of incentives on hondas that just came out, the space it right. We were really planning on getting one used, but found that there was only about 1 grand difference, so it didn't make sense. Also our trade in was worth much less that we had hoped, we got values at 2 places that matched, so we know it was fair. Our trade in was in a major wreck a week after we bought it, who knew how much that could affect trade in? With a repaired frame big time! Anyway, so we financed a bit more than I wanted, but still in our budget, but still, i was hoping to go down in payment (hubby's car was just paid off). Anyway, I am somewhere between really excited and nauseous! I will be driving this until my 10 year old is in college...crazy!

I think you are right - you bit the bullet because you had little or no choice. And yes, frame work really cuts down the value of a trade-in. Hondas give good value and hold up well. Look at it this way - at least you are not making two car payments a month, and this way you get the full warranties.

Enjoy your new van! Our newest car is already almost 4 years old! Time flies! My car was new to me, with 72,000 miles on it, 5 years ago! It's a 1998, so it's 10 years old now!

I have the 05 Odyssey and LOVE it. My lease is up in December so we are thinking about turning it in a little early and getting the 08 Odyssey next month.
