Im so impressed

I am so impressed with my son. He will be 14 in August. Now, he does watch his younger sisters from time to time when I go out and do errands. Yesterday we had him babysit my 2 girls while me and my husband went to a movie.

Me and my husband rarely go out alone, so it was nice to get out for a few hours. We left the house at 6:30 and returned at 9:20. When we got home both girls were in bed sound asleep. We did not tell him to put them to bed, we figured they would still be up LOL..

He did the whole nighttime routine with Faith, potty, wash hands and face, teethbrushing, pull-up on, pjs etc..He even laid in bed with her like I do :).. I honestly thought both girls would be still awake.

I told him how proud I was of him, and he had a big smile from ear to ear. I think he was proud of himself.

My husband is giving him some money for babysitting. Normally for errands we dont give him any money. Since this was a date night for us, my husband is going to pay him. Its nice to know that we can have more date nights while we have a reliable babysitter at home :)

^5 to your DS, Jackie. Yes, it's very comforting to know you have a reliable babysitter you can trust right there in your home!

Good for him! My boys have done the same and it always amazes me.

It's bittersweet when our kids grow up but it's so nice when they can take on more tasks. You have obviously taught him to be responsible and caring for his sisters. I'm sure he also wanted you to have a fun evening and do something for you/dh. You should be very proud!
I see many more date nights for you! :)
