Customs?

Moms View Message Board: General Discussion: Archive July 2008: Customs?
By Colette on Tuesday, July 1, 2008 - 03:45 pm:

How long does it typically take to go through customs coming from Europe? Dd comes home tomorrow from her exchange program and I am wondering how long we will be at the airport waiting for her.

By Tarable on Tuesday, July 1, 2008 - 03:53 pm:

My best friend travels with work a lot out of the country to europe and she says that it really varies depending on the airport and time of day. Some aren't too busy so it isn't too long but others she has waited a long time. I know that isn't much help but she says if it isn't too busy she can sometimes (depending on the amt of stuff she has) be out in less than 30 min. But that is normally when she comes in at like 3am... Good luck and I am sure that you are too excited for words to have her back!!!

I would take a book.. that is what I do when I have to pick my best friend up from the airport.

Off topic - but how are both of you doing post-surgery????

By Colette on Tuesday, July 1, 2008 - 05:40 pm:

I go back on Monday for my follow-up mri and meet with the neurosurgeon. Some symptoms have come back, but not all, some new ones have popped up, but that might just be my brain recovering still. He said 3 mos for total healing and it's been 2 on Monday. thanks for asking! Tara - how about you?

By Tarable on Tuesday, July 1, 2008 - 11:17 pm:

Well tomorrow I go to my final appointment of physical therapy and I am hoping that I will get the full release for lifting (I only lack lifting things over my head). I have none of the pain I had before surgery all that pain and numbness and tingling have gone totally! I will go back to the surgeon and on the 22nd. He has told me that I won't be "fully recovered" for a year because that is about how long it will take the bones to totally fuse but they are looking really good from the xrays that he has seen.

I hope things start doing better Colette! You are in my thoughts and prayers!

Enjoy having your dd home!

Coming in and out of Logan I find a breeze. I've never had to go through customs but I wouldn't think it would take more than 30 minutes.

Glad to hear how both of you are doing. Tara, that is wonderful news.

Colette, if you still have the *new* symptoms after 3 months, what are your options???
