SNOW!!!!!

Moms View Message Board: General Discussion: Archive March 2008: SNOW!!!!!
By Bellajoe on Saturday, March 8, 2008 - 06:20 pm:

Is anyone else getting SLAMMED with this snow storm? IT's been snowing steadily since last night. We've got not inches but FEET of snow. The slide on our swingset is halfway covered, our front porch is buried in snow. It's not only coming down, but it's also blowing causing huge snow drifts. We are not allowed to drive unless it's an emergency. My friend who is a nurse is stuck at the hospital. They have a mandatory in-house emergency or something like that. They are not allowed to leave. She works like 20 minutes away but I'm sure it would take her hours to get home, it's just to dangerous.

So we painted the bathroom, installed a new thing on the computer and just stayed in side today.

Its just crazy! I'll have to take some pictures and post them.

Nope. No snow in Wisconsin. Other than being rather chilly, the sun was shining the whole day!

I just read that Columbus got 20" in this storm, Bellajoe. You are doing the right thing to stay in, and I think your friend is probably better off staying at the hospital. Hope you don't lose power.

I was just reading online about this latest snow.

All of you guys who are affected - stay in, be careful!!!!!

It finally stopped in my part of Ohio!! The sun is actually out this morning! I know we got over a foot, but I would guess less than 2 feet. Might have to go out with a yard stick today and just see what is out there!

VIcki I was thinking about doing the same thing. Either that or bundling up the kids and having them go out to see how deep it is. They'd crack up at how much snow we have, probably.

It's sunny here now too.

Ginny thank goodness we didn't lose power, i thought about that last night when we went to bed.

Sun is up here too, thankfully. They are claiming we got 14 inches. Rob and the kids went out and shoveled and used the snow blower twice, the first time I measured 12 inches, and I didn't go out the second time so I have no clue. I know it is a mess but people are out and about this morning.

It started here on Friday afternoon, and didn't stop until the wee hours this morning. We have huge drifts. I've had to dig a path for the poor dog to go pee every time she needs to go out!
Hubby left for work this morning, and it took him an hour to get 2 minutes away from home. He came home, and it took him a couple of hours to shovel the driveway and stairs. The show was part way up the door of his car, so even getting in was a trick!
It's bright and sunny right now, but bitterly cold!

Instead of snow, we got torrential rain. If it HAD been snow, it would have been a couple of feet. There is flooding everywhere. Our town Little League field is under water because it is right next to the river. Our sump pump has been running constantly. After the rain stopped, we got high winds. We didn't lose power, tho, thank goodness.

Today was bright and sunny and only a little chilly.

We got rain and strong wind. It felled trees and took out power to thousands. TG we didn't lose any power or trees this time.
