I saw the story last night and tried to find some update info this morning, but this is all I can find. Anyone in the Chicago area that might be hearing more on their local news??


An environmental inspector from Lyons conducting tests at an industrial site on Chicago's Southwest Side on Friday discovered unidentified frozen human remains in the 3400 block of South Kedzie Avenue, just south of the Chicago Sanitary and Ship Canal, police said.

The badly decomposed remains appeared to be those of a white female with light reddish blond hair, said Monique Bond, spokeswoman for the Chicago Police Department.

"The remains were ... about 100 feet away from train tracks," Police Officer JoAnn Taylor said. They were taken to the medical examiner's office, where an autopsy was scheduled for Saturday. Lyons police said in a statement that the inspector told investigators he saw "a blue garbage can near the area where the remains were found."

I also heard this on Nancy Grace last night if I am not mistaken they found the body in a blue barrell so they are thinking the body maybe of lacy petterson who was missing for sometime her husband was that police officer Drew petterson. They have a witness that said he helped drew petterson carry out a blue barrell from the home and put it in the back of a car or truck. I think that this is the same story. I do hope that it is her though so the family can have some peace

I also saw it on Nancy Grace last night and they actually showed video that clearly had a blue barrel in the picture, so I am not sure what they were showing if they are now saying there isn't a blue barrel. It is strange that I even saw it last night because that isn't a show I normally watch. I was looking around for something to watch and just happened upon the story!
