OK ladies I need your help, Richard is computer dumb. I don't mean it to sound bad but he really has no clue. He downloads crap them thinks it is the computers fauls that the thing is so slow so then he goes in and trys to erase everything he thinks we don't need and erases stuff we do. I try to fix it and he tells me I am wrong yada yadayada. Well now our computer is really messed up.

We just bought this new dell back in November I have all of the disks that came with it still plus the Microsoft Office Suite disk and the WOWWAY cable install disk. How can I totally wipe out my harddrive and restart from scratch.

Can someone help me please. I am at the point I want to stick this thing somewhere on Rich where there is never any light!!!!!

Thanks for the help ladies.

Tonya, did we marry the same man? LOL Rob hasn't messed ours up too badly yet but we haven't had our dell as long as you. Give him a little more time and I'm sure I'll be looking this up in the archives! I'm no help but I couldn't resist commiserating with you.

I'm not the most savvy on this subject and I am sure someone can give you more detail but you should have a restore disk that will set it all back like it was the day you bought it. You will want to save any files you have on a disk and you will have to reinstall your printer and anything else. But it should fix the problem.

You have to format the C drive. Call Dell. Really... let them talk you through it. We pay enough for these damn Dell PCs, might as well use customer support!!!

Definitely call Dell. Try their service website first to see if they have instructins that will walk you through it.

For a reformat, Dell will walk you right through it.
