4 year old little girl

Moms View Message Board: Prayer Requests: 4 year old little girl
By Vicki on Monday, May 26, 2008 - 07:55 pm:

We were at the lake this weekend and yesterday a little girl who is 4 years old fell backwards into a fire that was in a fire ring. She basically sat down in a fire! So you can imagine where the worst of her burns were, but she also had some on her legs, the backs of her legs and her arms. She is going to be ok, but I am sure it is going to be a long and hard recovery made even harder by the location of the worst burns. Please keep her and her family in your prayers!

Oh I am so sorry. I will keep her in my prayers. There is a product prescribed by the Dr. called silvadine (I think I spelled it wrong). It helps the healing process, helps with the pain and reduces scarring. I have a hint and I am not crazy but the product is expensive. My vet sold it to me very inexpensively for a blister on my dog, but she told me it was the same product for humans. I now purchase it from the vet to use for burns on my kids and husband.

no what you are talking about it works wonders. it can be expensive, but it is covered my insurance, the last jar I got my insurance paid and I just paid my deductible for it, the next best thing for burns of you have access to it is pure aloe, from a aloe plant, squeeze it out of the leaves directly and use, thats the best natural cure. Poor darling she is on my prayers list and in my thoughts.

Silvadene cream is pretty much standard operating procedure on burns. I don't know how bad her burns are, but I'm sure if the medical staff deems it appropriate, they are using it. It always reminds me of Noxzema, since it's a creamy white product and comes in a blue jar!

She was released from the hospital and is at home now and reportedly doing well. They are watching her carefully to make sure it doesn't get infected.

I hope it all heals well for her! Poor thing.
