A suicide

Moms View Message Board: Prayer Requests: A suicide
By Kaye on Tuesday, September 11, 2007 - 08:08 am:

One of my good friend's (brenda) husband committed suicide yesterday morning. Please pray for her and her daughters Connie (age 25) and Angela (age 20).

This is a man who was always cheerful and happy. About 6 weeks ago he suddenly came into a depression (he was 51). His job became too stressful (he works with my husband). Anyway, they sought medical help about a month ago. A week ago today he went back because he was not okay, the doc said you need to stay home from work for 2 weeks. Friday was a bad day, he went back to the doctor. Monday morning he woke up early and walked out the door, drove to a bridge and jumped off.

They are all so shocked and devasted. They were doing all the right things.

I am a specific prayer believer, they need prayers for just being able to get through this. But they also really need money prayers. She will need someone to help her get through these first few months and then figure out what to do. She has never really worked, so now without his income, and I think no insurance, I am not sure what she will do.

The youngest daughter is in college as a BME major. She will have to back to school and cope somehow.

thanks for letting me get this out. Yesterday was just such an emotional day. As soon as I heard I went to see Brenda, I have watched my father and another friend lose a wife, I thought I knew what she would look like. She was so much worse, just unimaginable.

They aren't really any religious affilition, which also makes it tougher I think. They are also chinese, so she has no family here, they ar ein taiwan her husbands family lives in china. So she will be doing this solo. There was a family male friend there helping to make calls and take care of details. But there are just some english words she didn't know before yesterday. I sat and just listen through countless chinesse convesations.

anyway, prayers, it is going to be a long long road.

I am a specific prayer person, too.I'm praying for the family and for your family too. It's hard to watch someone you love go thru this.

Oh my gosh, what a terrible shame..., prayers for his family, with no close family nearby, I'll be thinking of them, hope he is at peace...

I'm so sorry, Kaye. What a tragedy. I'm so glad that Brenda has you nearby. She and her daughters will be in my prayers.
