Do you eat oatmeal?

Moms View Message Board: Let's Get Fit! (Weight Loss Support Group): Do you eat oatmeal?

Just wondering if any of you eat oatmeal? I love it, but I also love it with lots of brown sugar! Do any of you have any recipes that you enjoy that have less sugar? :)

I used to eat oatmeal everyday. I like the instant oatmeal - maple and brown sugar with milk. I haven't had any in awhile, though. Maybe you could try Splenda? I know it's not the same as brown sugar, but it would save on calories.

Okay, I just checked and the kind I like is 3 points (sans milk). I should start eating it again. :)

I love oatmeal and it's great for your heart. Try buying plain and adding your own brown sugar and fruit, like strawberries, banannas, blueberries etc. If you put your own sugar in, rather than buying the pre-sweetened kind you'll probably use less.

I eat it plain with 3T of Cary's sugar free maple syrup stirred in to it. I discovered that in my Weight Watchers eating out guide, its only 2 points w/ 1/4 cantaloupe.

I never thought of that Kristie! Thanks! I have some sugar free too!:)

Thanks everyone. I LOVE oatmeal. I like the packaged, but I can't buy it anymore. I am trying to make some better choices with food. I think there is more fiber in just plain. I can't wait to try the maple syrup!
