Gram's Fruitcake

Ingredients:

1&1/2 lbs. brown sugar
1/2 cup butter
4 eggs
1 TBS vanilla

6 cups flour
3 tsp baking powder
1&1/2 tsp cinnamon
1 pint milk

8 ounces each raisins and chopped dates

1&1/2 cup chopped nuts (we prefer pecans, but walnuts do fine, too), reserving 1/4 c. halves for garnish

Small jar marachino cherries, well drained and chopped, again , leaving enough halves for garnish

Small can pineapple tidbits, very well drained, or an equivilent amount of dried.

Instructions:

Cream butter and brown sugar, adding eggs one at a time. Add vanilla.

Combine dry ingredients and add alternately with milk. Add fruits and nuts last. Pour into a well greased Bundt pan and decorate with nuts and cherries. Bake at 350 for 1 to 1&1/2 hours

Your hubby will love this, sweetie, and it's not like the store bought, petrified fruitcake! *S*

I copied it. Thanks, Sheriann. I'm going to try to make it tomorrow. I'll let you know how it comes out!
