By Jujubee on Wednesday, March 25, 2009 - 09:35 pm:

4-5 Venison Steaks (or however many you want really)
2 cloves Garlic minced
½ onion thinly sliced
4 or 5 button mushrooms thinly sliced
½ cup beef broth (reserve ¼ cup)
1 can cream of mushroom soup

Place venison steaks in crock pot and pour ¼ cup beef broth over them. Add minced garlic, finely sliced onion and mushrooms. Mix cream of mushroom soup and remaining beef broth. Pour over steaks. Cook on high for 4 hours or on low for 7 hours. When serving ladle the gravy in the pot over the steaks.

Made this tonight.......

When it is hunting season here this will be a good recipe to whip out. Venison is everywhere here for about 2 months in the winter. Thanks for posting this. Have you tried it with other red meats --- bet it would be good.

Do you know a good venison meatloaf recipe - one of my neighbors makes those during deer season?
Venison is also good for you.

I haven't made a meatloaf yet, but I will see what I can find. My husband is an avid hunter so we have venison year round. I'm constantly experimenting, trying to find new ways to cook it. I haven't tried this with other red meats, but I am sure it would be delicious there too :D
