Crock Pot question

Moms View Message Board: Cooking and Recipe Discussion: Crockpot Cooking: Crock Pot question
By Cat on Saturday, June 5, 2004 - 03:20 pm:

We have a pot luck tomorrow after church and I want to take mashed potatoes (well, actually I thought I bought scalloped potatoes, but got mashed by mistake! Oh well! lol). They only take about 10 minutes to cook. Can I cook them in the morning before church, add just a little extra liquid and put them in the crock pot on low until after church? I usually leave the house at 8:30 to help lead music for the extra service and we won't be eating until about 1:00 (we have a batism after church). Do you think they'd dry out? What would you all do? TIA

I looked in my crock pot book & it didn't say anything that would help, but there are some really good potato recipes. Let me know if you would like one

I think I would use real potatoes and cook them on high. I am not sure the box ones would work.

Thanx. I ended up picking up potato salad on the way to church this morning. :)
