The "Commanding Officer" just called and they are going to accept my ds into the Young Marines Program. "Boot Camp" starts tomorrow and goes through to Nov 19. I'm so excited. This is something that he has been really wanting to do and we thought we were going to have wait until March because he is not 8 yet. He will be 8 before the graduation so they are going to let him in early. I can't wait to tell him.

He is being a brat right now so I haven't told him. I have told him he's going somewhere tomorrow but not where and its driving him crazy. I keep singing "Somewhere over the rainbow" The joys of being a parent. I'm going to wait for his dad to come home so we can tell him togeather.

I live for it, lol! I told him last night and he was so excited. Then I called his friends grandma (She raises him, mom is ????) and told her and she said he could go too. Now ds is even more excited. I think it will be good for both boys. dh taught ds to stand at attention and to salute last night. Its really cute. Ds kept practicing, I think he's going to do great.

He loved it! Dh even signed up to be a volunteer. The volunteers are mostly Marines and dh works with one of them. Dh and ds worked on standing at attention and about face, left face and right face for about an hour after we got home. I had to pull rank and send ds to bed or I think they would have been at it all night, lol. We even got his friends grandma to let him sign up. I think this is going to be really good for them.

oh yes, he is loving having him in the Young Marines. They were at it again last night practicing drills. Its really cute to watch. Ds got mad at me for laughing but I couldn't help it.
