A bridesmaid is generally a close personal friend, sister or relative of the bride who is asked by the bride to be in the wedding party. She is an important part of the wedding and pre-wedding activities. There is often some financial expense involved in being a bridesmaid: bridesmaid gown, shoes, hair styling, travel & accommodations and other expenses relevant to the shower, wedding ceremony and wedding reception.
