Every Windows based PC requires AntiVirus software to protect it from malcious people who will try to take over that computer for their own
nefarius purposes. Windows was originally designed as workgroup software with little if any thoughts of security issues. The possibility of
a connected worldwide network of computers offers many opportunities for people without morals to take advantage of. Because of it's original design
premise, that assumes a computer user is surrounded by other friendly users, Windows advertises many of the computer user's capabilities to surrounding
connected sytems, including shared files, shared printers and other services.
In addition to questionable external security, Windows enforces little if any internal security once a piece of software is actually running on the users PC.
