Advantage Rent A Car is a privately held rental car company, headquartered in San Antonio, Texas. We’re a proven service-focused company that provides business, leisure, government and local customers with a wide range of services at more than 150 U.S. locations and 130 locations in 33 countries internationally.
In 1963 a small business called “Three Ninety-Nine Car Rentals” opened its doors serving the large military population in San Antonio, Texas. Growing very quickly over the next 20 years into feeder and leisure markets throughout the western United States, in 1985 the operation was consolidated under one name – Advantage Rent A Car. Initially serving the government traveler, we expanded by developing market share in the local retail and airport markets. Today, expansion of the Advantage brand continues throughout the U.S. into the Sunbelt states and major leisure airport markets. In 2001, Advantage attained worldwide presence by launching an affiliate partnership program that has grown to an international network serving more than 33 countries.

The first bar depicts the team of men and women of Advantage and the spirit of character they embody through delivery of customer service, positive can-do attitudes and their personal growth opportunities. The second bar reflects Advantage’s rental facilities and the engaging environment presented to our customers through clean, organized and efficient rental locations. And the third bar addresses our product and the remarkable experience delivered to our customers by providing a service that is dependable, consistent and enjoyable.
At Advantage, we take very seriously the partnerships we form. Providing the very best customer service in the industry isn’t just limited to the customers we rent cars to – that commitment extends to all our travel partners.
Advantage locations will honor all reservations past the scheduled arrival time for the same date of rental unless prohibitive to do so by hours of operation. Customers arriving past their scheduled arrival time on the same date through the end of the business day will receive their guaranteed reserved rate. Advantage also checks all flight arrivals; if a customer will be arriving late due to a flight delay, we will remain open past normal business hours for 1 hour. If a customer arrives prior to their scheduled arrival time on their rental date, we will honor the reservation if a vehicle is available. Early availability is not guaranteed.
