good for? My sister received one on her birthday and my son(per dh request) threw the rest of it away today he said it wasn't any good? thanks Brandy

Honestly, I'd say a day or two, because Krispy Kremes are really only good fresh. I've never had a cake before, but I have day-old donuts today, and they are kinda stale!

Little trick here - if you microwave them for a few seconds, they freshen right up!

By Brandy on Sunday, April 29, 2007 - 11:50 pm:

yep i guess now they do lol = ) at least i'm pretty sure that's what the box said = ) Karen it wasn't stale it was still moist but i didn't know how they made them like with eggs i'm sure so i think after awhile it would be nasty?

Heidi, I didn't know that either! We don't have a stand-alone KK, we just get the KK doughnuts delivered to various gas stations. I don't think we can get cakes.

Krispy Kreme Doughnut Cakes

And yes they have eggs in them.

INGREDIENT INFORMATION
The only animal byproducts used in our doughnut are eggs (whites and yolks) and dairy products (including milk, butter, yogurt, whey, nonfat milk and nonfat whey). Our doughnuts are cooked in 100% vegetable oil shortening (partially hydrogenated soybean and/or cottonseed oil). All monoglycerides, diglycerides and enzymes are vegetable based. The lecithin we use is soy based. We also use wheat in our doughnuts, including bran, germ, gluten, starch and flour. Our products may contain allergens. To get further information about our products call us at 1800 4KRISPY.

Personally, it would have sat around a couple of days here too and then I would have thrown it out. But I don't like stale doughnuts. I am a fresh out of the oven type of girl.. LOL

Oh and from what I can find. The cakes aren't made by Krispy Kreme per say, which is probably why we never see them in the stores, places that carry the doughnuts. They are made by cake makers that use the Krispy Kreme's as the base of the "cake" and on occasions a franchised Krispy Kreme store does offer them as an option through their business.. But not something the factory makes and sells as a product, like their doughnuts or coffee.

I found cakes for all occasions, including weddings, when I did a search.. Also found out that this is a growing request for cakes..

Guess some of us our out of the loop on this one.. LOL

This would be a cool idea for a church breakfast, or a brunch...
