Yay!

Moms View Message Board: General Discussion: Archive April 2007: Yay!
By Jelygu on Saturday, March 31, 2007 - 08:59 pm:

I am finally on maternity leave. That means I have time to visit Momsview again! After school I thought I would have plenty of time. Then as my pregnancy progressed and I was working, I would be so exhausted when I got home that I would pass out as soon as Christopher went to bed.
I went ahead and quit work though. I wanted to work as long as possible, just to keep me active, but the 8 hours on my feet every day was too much. It made me achy, tired, and impatient. And to be honest, I wasn't making a whole lot of money anyways.
I am 37 weeks pregnant now, and boy am I ready. I have been dilated to 1 cm for 3 weeks, and my doctor said my cervix is starting to soften. I've been having a few contractions, but nothing to indicate the baby is coming sooner than later. We are very ready to meet our bundle of joy!
I have been reading posts when I could, and those of you who have been having problems, I've kept you in my thoughts. And those of you with good news too!

I'm glad you aren't working anymore. I was so tired, when I was working. I think I ended up being off, about 2 weeks before Emily was born. I worked 32hours/week as a nurse and walking those halls was exhausting, plus, it seemed, everytime I tried to walk quickly down a hall, I would get hit with Braxton-Hicks contractions and that made walking fast more difficult. Ugh.

Plus, Gary was still unemployed at the time. He'd lost his job on New Year's Eve and Emily was born in March. He was just on the verge of starting a new one, though. I just remember that as a nice time, that Gary, Sarah, and I were all home together. He was supposed to start the new job, the day that my water broke and Emily came into this world. He called his boss from the hospital and he told him to just start the following week. Since I had a c-section, it was nice that Sarah didn't have to spend anytime in daycare that week, but could just stay home with Dad.
