Kids had solo and ensemble yesterday. They prepare songs and play them for judges. Then they get scored. If you pick hard enough music and get a good score, you get to go to the state competition!

Sarah played a clarinet duet with her friend and was part of clarinet choir. Emily played a flute solo.

We found out today, that the clarinet choir got a 1* on their Class A music, so they are going to state! It's so exciting! I never played hard enough music, myself, to get to go to state. Gary never got to state, either. This will be a whole new experience.

The good news is, the Saturday that I have to work in April, is the week BEFORE state, so I don't have to work that day! It's April 28th, in Mlwaukee, at UW-M(University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.

Great news... Callie is very active in her schools choral department and State competitions are a huge deal!!! I hope that they do well..

Actually, it's just Sarah's clarinet choir, that earned state. I don't think they played Class A music, for their other stuff. It is still quite exciting, though!
