DD made a lemon cake this afternoon (just a mix) but we do not know what kind of icing you would put on a lemon cake. Any suggestions?

I would go for cream cheese frosting

My MIL makes a lemon glaze icing, but it makes the whole thing too lemony for me.

Sometimes I just dust my cakes with confectioners sugar instead of icing. Less calories.

JMO, I would just mix whipped cream with a little lemon extract and use that as the frosting, or make a glaze and drizzle that over the cake. mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
