Crampy during ovulation

Moms View Message Board: General Discussion: Archive February 2007: Crampy during ovulation

Do any of you feel crampy/bloated during ovulation time? I swear,I would think as I have gotten older things would be slowing down in that department. If I start feeling that way, I check my calender and its always mid cycle. It is like clockwork, even at the age of 42 yrs old LOL..It normally only lasts for 24 hrs and then that crampy/bloated feeling goes away.
Anybody else experience this?

Yes, and I'm 43. I agree you'd think things would be slowing down by now, but my cycle is the weirdest is has ever been. Argh! My GYN blames perimenopause.

Yes and I am 29. I get it for 3-4 days and then again for 5-6 during actual period.

Ah yes. I can usually tell when I'm ovulating just from the crampiness and the feeling in my ovaries. My cycle is unpredictable, so this is kind of a nice warning that aunt flo is right around the corner.

I get little pangs for about a day on one side one month, and the other the next. Must be it! lol I only get crampy for about 1-2 days during my actual period.

Ditto Cat, exactly!:)

I get pains when I ovulate but thats because I have cysts on my ovaries. I take midol and that helps with the bloating.

I mostly get a momentary pain, or just a pain that lasts a couple of hours, sometimes, when I ovulate. It doesn't happen every month.

Ditto....I even get moody and my face breaks out a few days before. Hormones...you have to love them.

The same thing happens to me. I asked my GYN about it at my last appt. and she said it is very normal for people at around age 30 or later to start being more aware of a feeling of cramps or pain when you ovulate.
