Spelling question

Moms View Message Board: General Discussion: Archive December 2006: Spelling question
By Reds9298 on Saturday, December 30, 2006 - 09:54 pm:

I'm working on a Halloween scrapbook page where I'd like the title to be "Carvin' Punkins". My question is, how do I properly spell/punctuate 'punkins'? Do I need an apostrophe somewhere? I just want it to be the right way of spelling it wrong. :) TIA!!

Just punkins. That's the correct incorrect spelling. The "n" is taking the place of both the "mp" (and we really only pronounce the M usually anyway) so no apostrophe is needed.

Wanna update my scrapbooks for me? They're only about 7-8 years behind. :)

Okay, I couldn't think of a way that would look better, but I wanted to check with someone else. Thanks!!! :)

I agree. That is definitely the way I would not spell it correctly! LOL!
